Intelligence - is the character's IQ, a measurement of his ability to learnand understand new concepts.  A character with a high intelligence will be better at his skills then a character with lower intelligence.

Each time a player advances a level, his skills & spells automatically get better. A player with no intelligence bonuses would experience learning hisskills in six levels: awful, poor, average, fair, good, and superb.  A playerwith a higher intelligence would skip some of these steps, learning the skill or spell in (for example) three steps: average, good and superb. This is a measured by a percentage and it's relation to a player's intelligence score is given in the chart below. If a character has a 16 intelligence, and learns a spell, he will learn it by 40%, the next time he advances a level, he will learn another 40% of the skill, bringing his knowledge of the skill up to 80%.  The next time he advances a level he will be completely learned in the skill, since he only needs another 20% to reach 100%, and he gains 40% of the skill per level.

This attribute is most important to spellcasting classes and they should try  to obtain the maximum of this attribute as soon as possible. Races withminuses to intelligence are severely limited and may not be able to learnsome skills to their maximum.
