The 'cure blind' spell will cure any form of blindness, whether that target be blinded from birth, injury or spell makes no difference. Healing the blind is an honorable task in the Realms, since many sorcerers will cast the 'blindness' spell during combat for a serious advantage.

Clerics earn their power of 'cure blind' by praying to their deity to heal the target.  Psionists take a somewhat different approach, by concentrating on the brain waves of the target, psionists can pinpoint the exact injury that caused the blindness and heal it with their mental powers.
