The 'detect alignment' spell will allow the spellcaster to see the alignment auras (or karma) of all that he sees while under the enchantment.  Good aligned creatures will have a blue aura, and evil aligned creatures will have a red aura (the neutrally aligned will have no visble aura).

Clerics receive this spell from their deity in order to protect themselves from those of dishonest alignments.  Psionists gain the spell as an ability to see the auras without guidance from any deity.
