An extremely powerful and popular offensive spell among spellcasters wishing to cause massive amounts of damage, 'lightning bolt' conjures a bolt of electricity to come from the spellcaster's fingertips, into the target.  It is one of the more archaic spells in the Realms, the 'lightning bolt' tome is difficult to find, and only the most esteemed and promising mages can reach it.
