One of the most powerful spells in the Realms, 'shockshield' will envelop the spellcaster in a bubble of electricity.  This buble will prevent 1/2 damage to the spellcaster from incoming attacks. The spell uses mana for each round the spellcaster is affected, so 'shockshield' is very temporary. As soon as the damage being recieved by the spellcaster is greater then the spellcaster's mana, the shield will subside.
