Faeries (fairies, pixies, sprites) typically live in the seclusion of sylvan forests, where the more powerful sylvan race of Elves could protect them. Faeries who endeavor to learn and adventure more make their way into Mel'anor, but life in the Realms is hardest on these small, delicate creatures, and many soon return to their seclusion or retire early.

When encountered in the wild, faeries will typically be found in small villages, and can be very helpful to travelers. Most populations of Faeries exist in Sylvan or magical woodlands. The exact numbers of the faerie population is indeterminable, since many are too small to see at a glance, and most faerie villages are invisible from other's sight off of hidden trails.

The wings of faeries can be 1/2 to ten times as big as the faerie's body, and aid faeries greatly in battle, giving them both quick maneveurablility and 3-D attacks.

What the faerie lacks in health, it makes up for in it's magical abilities. Faeries are the most magical creatures in the Realms, and can quickly cast spells. They can also see the forms of invisible or hidden creatures with their natural ability to Sense Life.
