Thieves are masters of sneaking, stealing, stalking and other illegal or immoral actions. Thieves are those who live their early years picking pockets from unsuspecting victims. Higher level thieves will often hire themselves out as assassins, and should generally not be trusted.

Thieves belong to an underground guild of cut-purses and assassins. They have existed as long in the Realms as any other class, thievery being one of the oldest professions of society.  Other classes will typically not acknowledge the thieves' as a legitimate guild, and look down upon the sneaking thief.  Thief guilds will typically be at bad terms with guilds in other cities, causing there to be many factions within thieves, and they will typically steal from each other and horde their knowledge from other guilds.
